What is Tuck? I've been reading the story for a while and found it very good. The main character (Tuck) seems to have gone from a crossdresser to a intersex person who might need or have some thing done later by doctors? At least that is the way I'm following the story. Sorry I don't write here much.

Well, at present we are going with "intersexed" as a shortcut for "genetic mess".

There was some hints early on that Tuck might not be a "simple" cross-dresser, maily through comments that he looked "too good" as a girl -- having at least a delayed puberty (despite being fifteen, he was still short and slight, no beard to speak of, voice didn't crack yet, etc.). So, it's not like Ellen changed the nature of the story in mid-course; the hints were already there, only they didn't appear significant at the time beyond being a bit of a convention in TG stories. Ellen was rather sly, disguising hints as clichés...

The cross-dressing thing was probably a blessing in disguise for Tuck; when he had to confront the reality of his messed-up body, he had already some experience in dealing with the world as a girl, and surprise, it wasn't horrible. Also, the relationship with the Pack almost tripled his immediate circle of friends, which offered much-needed emotional support in the subsequent crises.

Without the cross-dressing "preparatory" stage, it would be a very different story; probably a shorter one, too. For instance, there would be a very high likeliness of Tuck commiting suicide in April.
