those wires, that connect to rectangular pins on the motherboard, that go to case type things like power switches and drive LEDs and such. If I wanted the wires and connectors (because I have motherboards, and can connect switches and LEDs myself), what would I ask for/look for/Google?

Proper name, please, and only if you know; not your best guess.

I need a few sets of these... and if I have the connector+wire, I can put anything I need on it.

Well, in every motherboard manual I have ever read they were referred to as "headers."

No, that's what you call the area/part(s) on the motherboard. What do you call the damned things you plug INTO that?

Or, where the hell can I get them for cheaper than $1 per 2 pins?

Sounds like it might be Molex connectors. This will give you an overview to check.

Mouser should have what you want. Here's the appropriate page in their catalog:

Jameco (www.jameco.com) calls them a .100" (2.54mm) Pitch Crimp Terminal Housing.

Housings sold separately from the crimp pins.
