It does sound a lot like something Tuck might write, doesn't it? Smile Has Ellen ever been to Bosnia?

Rachel Greenham has Written Tuck Squared where Tuck went to the boot camp and as a result, was not there to prevent the closing of Seasons House because of the murder of two students.
Valerie is called to help Eugene who has been going crazy due to being given testosterone to turn him into a man. Please go read Tuck Squared at Ellen's web site to fully appreciate the story.

Not exactly. According to "Tuck Season," Tuck was *supposed* to go to boot camp and got to the Seasons House by mistake. The "main" Tuck in "Tuck Squared" *never got shipped* to boot camp, because Bill mentioned the idea to Lanier, who talked him out of it. Tuck's summer in the "Tuck Squared" universe is assumed to be essentially the same as in the mainline "Tuck Saga."

So:
"Tuck Season" diverges from mainline "Tuck Saga" sometime before summer.
"Tuck Squared" diverges from mainline sometime before the breakup with Travis.
And then, there's the small matter of the "Bikini Beach" story, which I *assume* is a further split from "Tuck Season..." I could wave this off, except it's by Ellen herself...

There's also some other fanfics that split the story further. "I Am Not Alone" comes to mind.

If one takes the parallel-Tuck idea to its logical conclusion, then there are a few other obvious, so far unexplored, parallel universes (maybe ideas for other fanfics):
- One in which Tuck DID go to boot camp;
- One in which Tuck, Mike and "Teresa" died at the gangsters' hands;
- One in which Tuck and Debbie didn't break up during the convention;
- One in which Tuck committed suicide back in April;
- One in which Tuck died from the attack...

(I THINK there was a thread somewhere in the forums dealing exactly with the possible parallel universes... If so, we should move this conversation there)

I think "Tuck Squared" diverges much earlier than that, probably just after the beginning of school. Tucks car was vandalized in the first few weeks and had to be repainted. It's doubtful Valerie would have recognized Tucks repainted car as having once belonged to Debbie.

"43. Camouflage body paint is not a uniform."

I can just see Tuck in helmet, LBE and boots, especially if everyone else is in some kinda camo uniform.

Well, according to Tuck Squared, Valerie and Mike were able to prevent the gangsters from killing Teressa. Whether or not Valerie ever met the other Eugene that was killed with Teressa is not known.

Well, Tuck-Squared-Valerie apparently came from the world of the original release of "Tuck Season" -- the one that Ellen pulled from the Web because she is unsatisfied with it. Whether the rewritten version of "Tuck Season" will even include the whole thing with the gangsters remains to be seen. It might be that Ellen takes the story in a different direction, and the only remain of that original plotline will be in the backstory of "Tuck Squared." (And in the hard disks of us old-timers, who jealously hoard that original version of "Tuck Season" but respect Ellen too much to pass it around without her authorization)

I only hope that Ellen eventually finds the inspiration again to tackle it. I suppose rewriting is less interesting than doing brand new chapters...

Well, Valerie does come from the Tucky Season world. According to Tuck Squared, she has just arrived because she meets the other Tuck that has been given shots that are destroying him. This Tuck has lost the Gang and De Boys because of it as well as his babysitting job as Val. He called Valerie to help save him.
According to Tucky, Valerie met Eugene Wallace and the guy that runs the Boot Camp. She also meets Kenneth and by the end of her stay, Mike arrives and they save Teressa from the Mafia.
Because he never went, the Mafia kills Teressa and Wallace, thusly ending Seasons House.
But there is the original where none of this happens, Thusly, there are three Tuck worlds and considering the fact that Tuck is linkes to Mike, THAT is why he has nightmares from links to other Tucks.
