Just a note for folks who, like me, can't afford much in the way of donations.

Paypal has a weird little trick.

If you go to their site and login, then enter the donations address for Ellen's site, the default is a "purchase" tab with several radio button. If you select any of those Paypal takes a cut.

But if you select the "Personal" tab, and then select the "Gift" radio button, Paypal says they won't take *any* charges out of the money you send.

So Ellen should get *all* of it. This will make quite a difference with small donations.

What if PayPal will not recognize you because you had an account with your bank account under one name and changed your name with transition, have the same bank account, and they will not let you use your account because your new name is not the same associated with that account. They send me email updates, but will not let me log in, even to try to change details and update it. I have been trying off and on for two years! Can you say FRUSTRATING!!!!

Contact them *without* logging in.

Also, you can send money using a credit/debit card *without* having a Paypal account. Or so I'm told.

I refuse to have a paypal account so this is what I do. However, a few years ago I did have paypal decide that I had used one credit card enough and refuse to accept it again. It hasn't happened since so hopefully it was just a glitch rather than policy to encourage people to have accounts.
