I only just finished my first reading of the entire saga up to this point and of the four relationships that Tuck gets involved in it seemed to me that the relationship with Travis was the strongest.
Debbie controlled Tuck, manipulated him through more base instincts and turned him to her own ends. While Tucks love for Debbie was real it was shown that she never truly trusted Tuck and the entire thing was based around her ability to control him.
Jill, while a "relationship" was only two weeks and was only sex. Probley the most honest and healthy of them all and was a very good release for Tuck.
The relationship with Pam we just do not know yet where it is going, but so far it seems more along the lines of just a casual relationship for mutual desires. While Pam and Tuck care for one another you don't see that shooting spark like you see elsewhere and really, so far the relationship seems almost like background noise rather than anything important.
However with Travis you see the sparks, you can feel the intensity. Tuck is constantly swooning over Travis and going at great lengths to spend time with him while they where together. It was powerful, strong, and vivid and since Debbie there has not been any relationship that recieved that sort of attention.
Now when we last saw mention of Travis it was from Val walking up to the door, knocking, and Anne opening the door. Val was only assuming that Travis was in a relationship with her. We never got concrete evidence about that.
So does anyone expect to see Travis make a return and try to put the pieces back together?

I'm pretty sure -- assuming Ellen continues with the main line; it's been more than a year now, and she has taken down the episodes-in-progress number for it on her site -- that we'll eventually find out whether Travis moved on while Valerie was incommunicado (and Tuck was unconscious), or whether Anne's presence at Travis's place had some other explanation. (Probably the two run into each other unexpectedly somewhere and have an awkward conversation.)
But as Amy! (I think) pointed out on another thread here, Travis's level of excitement had ebbed from the intensity that was there at the peak of the relationship. Reading in bed while waiting for Valerie, falling asleep after sex: things like that. Sure, that was probably inevitable, but if Travis hadn't been in a long-term relationship before (which seems likely), he might not have realized it. Add all the complications at the end -- and, of course, Travis not knowing that Val was immobile in the hospital and then at home, rather than being "too busy to contact him" as Lisa intimated -- and it's not out of the question that Travis has become serious about someone else.

Honestly I have to say I think people are over playing Travis going to sleep after sex. My own Father has been happily married for going on 20 years with my step-mother... And honestly, her biggest complaint is his sleeping after sex. I went to her about advice with one of my ex's doing it to me and she said it's just a guy thing, alot of them do it. And honestly, in my opinion that is very true.
Also the reading while Val gets ready, again, it's a guy thing. He treated Val like a NORMAL person and not like some freak show attraction. Honestly, if I had some guy staring at me while I was getting ready to go out I'd be pretty freaked and want to know what the hell his problem was. He acted like a normal guy. Attentive and loving towards Val with out being overly clingy. The one incident where he got wierd was during the putt putt excursion, which I can understand. Val passed out, he got worried, he can't show that infront of the guys. Again, a normal guy thing and how they would react even towards someone they care about. Expecially towards someone they care about alot.
As for Val 'losing intereast' or losing the spark. No, I don't think so. If you read through the last few dates they had SOMETHING was always going wrong that would knock Val out of the mood. Prior to that thing that would knock her out of the mood she was pretty well ramped up and ready to lock Travis in the bedroom and molest him quite happily. Also she was constantly happy to see him and always felt better around him and after seeing him. Even when it came to talking to the other girls about her times with Travis, as much as it emberassed the HELL outta Val, she always ended up smiling when she thought of Travis.
Honestly I don't believe the relationship had even moved out of the honeymoon stage until that first fight. And that first fight was indirectly caused by Val's friends refusing to accept that maybe Val really can handle her own personal deamons better than they could. Particularly Kim.
Incidently, going through my 2nd re-read of the main Saga now and I've really started to dislike Kim. She just rubs me more and more wrong, and earlier and earlier, each time I read the Saga. Like I'm picking up on the selfish 'me me me me me' vibes she gives off earlier in the story.

Travis was so upset at the idea of Sheila breaking up with Bobby while he was in the hospital, I've always been suspicious of the idea that he would do the same thing. His car was there, but Tu-Val had been bad at recognizing his car. Until it's confirmed, I'm not going to count out that she was interested in the idea of spending a whole weekend with her boyfriend like she'd shown interest in after Val did it. And Travis is the kinda person who wants to please people, if his friends wanted to borrow his room, he couldn't say no.
I don't see Travis was loosing interest in val. he just wanted to do more than be alone with her all the time. he wanted to be with his friends, i'd assume to show her off to his friends.
I'm hoping a conversation with Amy over thanksgiving break will lead to more information on Travis... assuming Tuck doesn't throw a fit about it, unless Amy wants to meet Travis herself.

Tuck has already been with two people since Travis.
I really think that this could all get very messy. Travis got very upset about Shelia. I hate thinking about what he would do when he found out he did the same thing, although due to being out of the loop.
