It seems to me that Ellen's taken some pains, plotwise, to establish that:
1. Tuck's home has a choice of lethal weapons that family members can sign out as needed;
2. Tuck has been trained to be an accurate shot even when he's disoriented;
3. Tuck suffers from nightmares and at times reacts violently to them before he's aware of his actual surroundings or what he's doing.

I'm a bit afraid we're going to descend into melodrama at some point by having Tuck inadvertently shoot somebody (Debbie? Travis?) and then panic and bolt, ending up, as he promised on July 4, in New Orleans.

Can anyone reassure me on this?

Eric

Just to repeat what Mike said to Kim (might not be exact): "At least with this family you know they won't shoot you unless they mean it."

Access to the firearms in the house would be hard to do while not awake anyway.

It might also be a bit reassuring to note that Tucker's nightmares and so forth are well-known to his family, and therefore that Tucker is Banned from keeping 'serious' firearms in his room. Pellet pistols, paintball, etc, are fine... but even Eugene himself would admit there is too much possibility of him waking up in a disoriented hallucinatory/nightmare panic and shooting someone before he's really conscious.
