Sometime during the first two months of January, Tuckerspawn will be going down, hopefully to come back up on a faster, more secure server with upgraded software, all the past data intact and hot chocolate for everyone. Well, maybe not the hot chocolate. Smile

So if you don't see Tuckerspawn here, try again in a few days or look at http://bigclosetr.us/topshelf for a notice since the URL may change but I hope not.

Hugs,
Erin

Well, it might actually take that long for me to get it done. Smile

If like me you initially find the site, and especially this page you're reading right now, looks a lot worse, do a shift-reload. it's because your browser or some upstream proxy cached the old CSS. Smile

Well, I note that the login cookie seems to expire a lot faster.

I'll see if that can be reconfigured. Smile

No hot chocolate? This is the biggest gyp since the South Park movie where Cartman ran his "punch and pie" bait and switch.

Seriously, It looks good; and the load time is much faster. Thanks for the update, and for all the other work you do to provide the site. I know that I don't say thanks often enough. And I suspect everyone feels the same.

...and done in the first month of January.
Congratulations! It looks great and is much easier to read. I also thank you for all the effort you put into maintaining this site.

The login page does not allow a "no cookies" option. Without that,
I can't use the browser I've been using (w3m) to log in.
Lynx works, but then I have to deal with the site in lynx, which is why
I went to w3m in the first place.
This is not currently a good situation...
Any way to get the "no cookies" option back on the login page?

I'll work it out. I didn't deliberately change that.

And yeah, this ain't a particularly Lynx friendly board, though not as bad as some.

Seems to be fixed now. I logged out and back in and saw the Use cookies box.

Something strange here: messages that the old board attributed to "Anonymous Tuckerspawn" -- which over the past couple of years has mostly meant comments from people whose aliases fell out of the system somehow (Sluggo and MartenKemp are two that I recall; I think there were a couple of others) -- seem to have disappeared entirely now.

In the "Inflammatory Book?" thread, there are quotations from two messages by Sluggo (7/26/05 and 7/29/05), but the messages themselves are no longer on the board.

Not much I can do about it, while the old system considered unattributed comments to be "Anonymous", the new one apparently just cleaned them out of the database. They still exist in the old version of the DB but I'm not sure how to get them across to the new ones and in the proper place.

Sorry about that.
