This is a recommendation thread for original fiction that can be found on the web, so we all have something to read while we wait for the next Tuck update...

First if you haven't yet already done so, Ellen makes some recommendations of her own that are very much worth the read! See them here: http://www.barkingduck.net/ehayes/select/index.html

Once you've read those, have a look at Rebekkah deMere's 8 Dragons series. While it starts off rough and is as yet unfinished the series is still quite entertaining and I think still worth the read! The basic plot starts with your typical caught dressing up scenario and then swiftly makes a left turn and by the series' end you begin to wonder if the story is even set in our own time period or are we simply unaware of the real world all around us...

What are some original fiction series or stories you recommend? Doesn't have to deal with transgender issues or cross dressing, but remember your audience!

I'll definitely second Ellen's recommendation for the Jordan Winter's series.

Bek D. Corbin's series Foxglove is also good if you like D&D. It doesn't really deal that much with tg, but a very good story.

No Half Measures by Jenny Walker. Another series which I highly recommend. I feel that it's a bit happier than some of the stories out there, which is nice. Deals with a willing male to female transformation.

I'd add Karen E Lea's unfinished Educating Danielle, which is now on most of the standard sites (StorySite, Sapphire's, FM).

E.E. Nalley's Southern Belle (on Sapphire's) is a fun superhero serial with more plot twists than one might believe possible.

Bek D. Corbin's Cat on a Hot-Wired Roof (also on Sapphire's) is a favorite of mine. Also Maddie Valasek's Flight of the Griffin (Sapphire's); her other two stories on that site, Blaze and Changing of the Guard, are solid efforts as well, though the latter stopped rather abruptly with only one of its many subplots resolved. (Unless it's being continued on FM or elsewhere...haven't looked.)

Samantha Michelle, who wrote three Tuck-connected stories on Ellen's Writings page (OK, one Tuck fanfic and two others using the characters she introduced), did a lot of others that I enjoyed, most with engaging teen protagonists. StorySite and FM have good collections that overlap, but not completely. "I Never Wanted to Be a Girl" is probably my favorite, but a number of others -- "Benjamin", "Murphy's Law", "Don't Bet Your Underwear", "Jail Break" and "Missguided", to name a few -- come to mind as runners-up.

I've enjoyed most of Hebe Dotson's stories on StorySite. Her "Round Trip" does excellent work, IMO, with its protagonist, though the story premise may take some suspension of disbelief. Her "Sisters" trio -- "Half-Brother", "Half-Sisters Too" and "Sisters Three" -- are also nicely done.
