I recently re-read Tuck and decided that perhaps I should learn how to bake, mmmm cookies.

Anyone else been inspired to do something after reading Tuck?

Camping. I did it in scouts-ish, but took the idea more seriously since Tuck.

ASL is a really useful thing I picked up after reading tuck since my hearing isn't the best. It would be more useful if my husband would use it.

My husband and I learned Morse code because of tuck a few years ago, though I have long since fallen out of practice. He seems to have retained much more of it.

I did also check out blintz because of tuck, but we can't keep the cheese in the house. So I quickly reverted back to crepes.

I was already a fan of pies long before Ellen wrote those scenes, and I don't need no marble slabs. I'm just that good. Though not good enough to even attempt croissants without one... again.

Today I successfully cooked cookies, well a cookie - they spread and filled the baking tray Laughing .

They worked but are a little rich for me so I think I will try less butter next time I make some.

My stairs have been inspired to try to kill me. Their latest attempt last week left me with enough bruises that I could test how bad Tuck looks for how long.

Now I'm hoping my coffee pot doesn't get any ideas.

Started reading Heinlein, read A Mote in God's Eye and The Gripping Hand, read The Deed of Paksenarrion which in turn made me devour everything else Elizabeth Moon has written. It made me start wring and reading again.
Tuck has really toughened me up both mentally and physically. I know Tuck is a flawed character, but I often find myself asking myself "What would Tuck do?" (The most logical solution to something, practical over fashionable, etc)
I can't do a lot of the things Tuck does (My legs and hands have staged a permanent mutiny), but that hasn't stopped me from developing a keen interest in a lot of the stuff in the Saga. (especially renewing my love of 70s and 80s music, and all the stuff that's led to.)
Basically, Tuck's given me a lot of direction where I was just treading water before.
