Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but it seems to me that there is an unspoken theme regarding Tuck's geekiness, beyond just being Bill's child: that for young queerfolk, especially bi or trans folk, geekdom can be an escape. That even at an early age, queer kids can tell that there is something different about themselves, even if they don't quite understand what, and that they... withdraw. Avoid social contact. Bury themselves in intellectual pursuits rather than expose themselves to peer pressure or mockery. Or at least, change the kind of ostracism to one that isn't quite so severe - geeks and nerds, though outcasts, at least have a social role of a sort.

Is this something which you have been intentionally putting into the series, or am I projecting my own thoughts onto you? I can't help but think that there's something to that, especially given that queer geeks tend to come out much later in life than other Kweerfolx: we can hide longer, since no one expects us to conform in the first place.
